Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
It's a mafia game where you don't get killed by the mafia, but infected/converted.
Although there may be a limit in how many they can infect. After that it would be kill-only.
The first mafia game we did here on Dylflon was an infection one. The Thing themed, with a great narrative.
You can find the threads on this page: http://www.gametavern.net/forums/sea...5&pp=25&page=3
You should read Dylflon's narration, I think they were pretty good. I also did a diary from my character, which turned out pretty ok as well. Edit: here's mine. It's not much fun when you weren't in the game though. http://www.gametavern.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17384

Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
The first link doesn't work Angrist.
I did indeed find the mafia game entertaining, and depending on whether or not i'm busy when the next game is played, i would like to take part. I can understand the vigilante being quiet, but i would have loved to have seen more kills. If Jeepnut had been the vigilante, it would have been interesting, though the game might have finished sooner.
In the infection game, i take it the game starts off with just one player being the thing. Though i haven't played in either of these games, the mafia by concept seems more fun because you can build narratives of individual players from the very start when attempting to deduce whether there mafia or not. Either way i would like to take part.
Breakabone suggested a Left 4 Dead theme in the next mafia, i personally have not played Left 4 Dead and think we would be better off sticking to older and more widely known film franchises. Ric's Bond suggestion isn't a bad idea, there are enough Bond characters, though if you were trying to do a list of good guys, i don't think everyone would recognise them. Starwars does seem the best fit. You could always open it up for popular Sci-Fi characters in general.

Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
I thought this time the theme didn't have a big role. I didn't feel like I was Han Solo or anything... And I didn't really bother seeing what the others were.
Left4Dead is basically based on all previous zombie movies. There's not much to understand about the game either... Just that there are survivors and a lot of zombies.
Hey, this would be a nice twist: innocent people are zombies, while the mafia consists of the living survivors.
Edit: for the upper link, just search the Happy Hour for 'mafia'. The threads will be on the 3rd page.

Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
Curious your list for a Bond based one, I mean villains would be no problem or even Bond girls.
But list of heroes is more what looking for.

Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
Edit: I don't mind at all. I don't care much for Bond, but I don't mind him either. I bet you can come up with something.

Re: GT Starwars mafia, better than TV
I'm not going to do a theme for the next one because I'd like to focus on making an original narrative.
The antagonist next time is going to be otherworldly brain parasites.

haha yes sounds fun.
Sorry about my vigilante lame-ness. Dyf really threw me for a loop, and then I didn't have much time to make any theories.

As for my idea for a 'Bond' theme I have to say there are enough Good Characters to make a game. Check this out -
http://www.geocities.com/ultimatejbwebsite/mi6.html
That's not to mention all of the good Bond girls and minor characters he meets. Felix's wife?
Mabey this idea could be used in the future? I would certainly like it to be.
And there is another one I will add to that list -
*WARNING SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN MOONRAKER*
Do you remember the end of the film Moonraker, remember what Jaws did? I would say he redeemed himself there and could in fact be classed as either a goodie or a baddie as with Darth Vader, depending on how you look at it. And what about Jaws' girlfriend? She could be classed as good too.
*END SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN MOONRAKER*
