Re: End of the Semester Procrastination Thread!
Man, everyone on this forum is hardworking and studious. I'm a bit of a slacker, especially during second semester. I have a 20-page paper and a 10-page paper I am working on. I'm currently studying kinda for 3 finals, plus one exam coming up.
I'm taking 2 summer classes though, which means commuting, weathering hot Chicago weather, and yeah.
Right now I'm pursuing Psychology still but I'm minoring in Gender and Women Studies. My school has a pretty awesome GWS program and I figure it will be helpful when I hopefully go and do therapy. Right now I plan on jumping into grad school and snagging a Masters in Psychology. One day I'd like to do relationship therapy and work with people. In the mean time I'd like to settle on some fun research job, tons of stuff out there....anxiety, drug use, sexual dysfunction, phobias...psychology is a broad field. If that fails I might go work with the school system, Illinois has lots of jobs in that field.
I hope that my 2-years as an Engineer gives me life experience over my peers, and while I'm anti-social and never leave my room (I have a phobia of talking to people), I hope that BaB can help me develop the personality to rock a future job interview. I've noticed that I'm a little better at math and computers than a lot of my fellow psych majors people, and I have 3 solid years working hands on in the IT field which means I'm competent enough at using Excel and surfing the web.
Anyway, I really should get a degree in procrastination because I know what that's all about....

Re: End of the Semester Procrastination Thread!
I have two weeks left after this one - next week is so called 'dead week' (we still have classes though, haha), and the week after is finals week.
Right now I am dedicating all of my time to working on a Doom-like FPS game for my graphics class (I'll post it when I'm done), but after that I'll have to start studying for a variety of computer science/math classes...numerical analysis, logic and computational theory, and electrical engineering.
Going to be a sucky couple of weeks, but I can't wait until it's over with.

Re: End of the Semester Procrastination Thread!
I have one more finals left, it's in Highway Engineering. It's tonight at 5:30 PM. I only had four classes so far. I already have grades for two of them. For Steel Structures 1, which is a Steel Design class, I got a B, and for my joke of a class Underground Coal Mining I got an A+. That coal class's grade consists of three parts; take home midterm, take home final, and attendance.
On Saturday, I have the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, which isn't required for engineers to take, but if you want to have your PE, Professional Engineer, in the future, you need to start by taking the FE exam. The PE is a status next to your name like MD. It gives you the ability to stamp the drawings and everything on a project. You basically get more responsibility and a higher salary.
Anyway..the FE exam is 8 hours long. It's split up into two 4 hour sections. The first section is about general engineering stuff that most engineers from all disciplines should know, like all forms of Mathematics (Calc 1-3, Matrices and Linear Algebra, Differential Equations), Chemistry, Computers, Ethics, Engineering Economics, Probability and Statistics, Statics, Dynamics, Mechanics of Materials, Materials Science, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Fluid Mechanics.
The second part is on your specific field of engineering, which is Civil Engineering for me. So I'll be focusing on topics like Soil Mechanics, Structural Analysis, Structural Design(Concrete and Steel), Hydraulics, Environmental Engineering, Surveying, Transportation, Construction Management and Materials.
So it should be fun, especially considering I'm sick and I probably won't get any sleep the night before.
In a little over 2 days and a few hours I'll be on summer break until August though!
