It all comes down to social values. Intrinsically I'd argue taking a life is the worse thing you could possibly do, ever. And even in the examples I'm about to list, I would still feel bad killing. But anyway, when murder is O-K:

1. war time
2. self-defense
3. to save your own life but not for self-defense reasons
4. accidentally or indirectly

Pedophilia is predetermined. Often it is an ends to some sick means. It's basically fucked up. The gray area is "what is pedophilia." I think nude pictures are subject of the most debate with regard to this. When you add rape/sex to the playing field, automatically we can agree that pedophilia is bad.

There's no arguing it. Killing someone in a war is not as bad as a 40 year old putting his penis in a 5-year old girl's mouth. Just typing that made me cringe a little inside, especially since I get to read about this sick shit now that I'm a psych major.

It gets a bit tricky though with age and all. Is two consenting 12 year olds that are having sex considered abuse? I mean, the US has some ass-backwards laws about sex and shit. Like, some 14 year old girl just got registered as a sex offender for putting up a picture of herself naked on myspace. That's bogus. That will haunt her on her record for the rest of her life. But the law is another topic to debate.

In this thread murder is not as bad as pedophilia unless it does not fall within the 4 points I listed above.

The 16 year old kid answered the ad on Craigslist that the guy had posted. Probably the kid didn't even say anything to the guy about his age.

So this old man went onto Craigslist posting an ad for violent/rough sex. Yeah ok that's pretty messed up but a lot of people like s and m situations and stuff.

Then this 16 year old kid responds to the ad saying that and offered to have sex with him and smother him while he did it for 60 dollars. Weird again but they both agreed to it.

Also I'm sorry but the guy in this picture looks much older than 16:



I find it funny how because the kid was 16 some of you automatically assumed the murder was due to the fact that the man who solicited the sex was older, not because this kid was just psycho fucking nuts.

Well I guess for the most part I blame this whole thread on the way BaB worded his opening post. After reading the article it's pretty clear that the old man wasn't really at any fault here. He was laid off from his job and just looking to have some "fun" sex. He actually is the victim in this situation.

Always with these kinds of stories the media prints what they can and what they want. It's never the case you get the full story. I'm not saying maybe this guy wasn't a pedo, but I doubt it. I think the reason no one made a big deal out of the 50 to 16 thing is because the kid answered the ad and he was FUCKING INSANE!

Also just to add this last point the age of consent in KY is 16. I know for a lot of states where the age is 18, there are still loopholes in the law like if you're 16 to 18 as long as the person you have sex with, assuming it's consensual, is 25 or younger it's still not considered rape. Also there are ways around bigger age gaps as well.

Hell when I was 16 I was totally ready to get it on, and hey with an older man too. Probably in his 50s.

There are all kinds of people out there. Just trying to shed a little bit of light on the fucked up world we live in folks.
