Yea, although only the first 30 minutes of it. It was OK, Fallon looked a little stiff. I do like the new set. And whats up with the Roots as the house band? That cant be permanent...

The Roots are the permanent house band, yes.I didn't watch it really. Snagged a few minutes of it the other night at Dylflon's, but I figure if anything is wrong with Fallon personally, you can probably just chalk that up to inexperience at a talk show.

Seen both of his first two episodes now and he's not bad. Like Jason said he's a little stiff, but it'll fade with time.
ps: His suits haven't been awesome thus far imo

pps: Justin Timberlake deserves his own talk show

He wasn't very good in my opinion.....but I suppose with time and practice that could change. He needs to slow down his talking, cut back on the fake/forced laughs, and just lighten up.
I guess I have ridiculously high expectations after watching Conan for so long. Conan felt so natural and relaxed.

Fallon has this awkward/tech/nerd guy persona, I'm just not sure if it will hold my interest for long.......especially with Ferguson on. Man Ferguson has some funny moments.

 WOW.
So more fake laughing from Jimmy Fallon.

And again, the monologue sucked ass. (Although that could be the fault of the writers.) Did anyone catch the part where Jimmy said he was going to "rap the monologue." And then they cut to The Roots. And The Roots did not look mildly amused? And how could they...The Roots are a rare critically acclaimed/grammy winning and TALENTED group.

He also stared at the teleprompter during the monologue and during the lame magazine thing.

And I can't get over his interview style. The awkward, fake laugh guy...is not working. I hope that after a few weeks he gets Interviewing 101 lessons from a producer.

It's still just the second week, but like I said...we have Ferguson who is both energetic and funny 2 channels over.

what the fuck!! diggnation on Jimmy Fallon? Seriously? This is what is going to boost a show that is already awkward because the host is learning how to not be nervous while interviewing/reading the cue cards.

I thought it was a disaster. The audience agrees. Also, diggnation has always sucked so ummm....yeah.

I'm thinking, unlike Conan who showed marked improvement over time, Fallon will have a short-lived reign as host.

I like how russell brand, the funniest thing to happen to Fallon's show, just sat there looking bored and confused. |

 I'm watching right now.
I don't like Jimmy Fallon so this will be interesting.

When he falls flat he really falls flat hard. I don't know if I can keep watching this.

Re: Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
Conan was an SNL/Simpsons writer with basically NO TV experience going into his hosting career....so not only was it more understandable for him to be nervous and to suck at interviewing, but it was arguably excusable.
Jimmy Fallon was on SNL for many years. He also hosted SNL's Weekend Update...which is basically like a talk show. He was nervous and quirky on that too....so I dunno. It may just be his "style" that we are seeing.

Personally though, I do not think he will improve to the extent that Conan did. However, if he finds a niche good for him. The first step in my opinion is to cut out all this gadget stuff....I feel like his show is a commercial for Palm or Apple.

The laptop thing was stupid. How about showing us their screens?
The "Gary eats babies" skit was also terrible.

I don't know, maybe he'll get more credible with age. Maybe leave the show in the oven for ten years.
