End Comic Continuity?

I don't think publishers are against it, I mean there are tons of one-shots or mini-series that are self-contained. I just think they are so well adjusted to the even continuing medium that it would be hard for them to break, but I do think it may be for the best.

Its like a serial TV show, you fall one or two episodes behind and it becomes a daunting task to catch up, and why should you have to work so hard to be entertained.
