Re: I'm tired of winter
So, I stayed up all night studying for a midterm, and in an ironic twist (after making this thread yesterday), I'm able to enjoy my first snow day. Apparently the storm got bad enough for BU to close.
Now I can sleep.. heh

Doesn't effect me since no longer in school, but yeah school closed in New York as well.
Felt bad woke one resident up minutes to 6 to catch his bus because didn't know schools were closed.
Happy don't go back to work still Wedn night so tons of R n R.
And I love the sight of snow when I can stay still.

Re: I'm tired of winter
We got some nice snow and ice (skating!) a few months ago. Now I think it's finally becoming spring. I think I wouldn't mind some more snow though. I just wouldn't get as excited as last times.

Crazy scandinavian.

Scandinavian Netherlands, now that's something I'd like to see before I die.

Speaking of Netherlands, I'm there right now! Rotterdam is interesting...We actually have a day off so I walked around for a few hours and saw some different neighborhoods. Anyway, yeah, it's nice, but off to Germany at 3 or 4 AM

Re: I'm tired of winter
Wow, Chicago has seen weather above 30 maybe for a total of a week this winter. We've had lots of 20s, teens, and a few single digit weeks. We also had that one week where it was like -45 degrees with the windchill.
The only people who have it worse than the midwest are Canada and maybe New York.
But seriously, bring on the global warming. It's 19 degrees and we have had lake effect snow for the past 36 hours. I'm ready for some 60s.

Re: I'm tired of winter
Normally I would be tired of winter, BUT, im going skiing in Colorado over my spring break (I'll be in Colorado march 7-12 to be exact), so I hoping for one more blast of winter in Steamboat. It was 50 there today which has me worried, but the temps are suppoused to drop. Looking forward to it.

Tell me about it. I'm looking forward to the 50's we're supposed to get later this week.

Re: I'm tired of winter
Actually The Netherlands and Scandinavia are quite different. I guess Danmark is the link between them (Scandinavian country with a climate comparable to ours).
Picture: (the small brown country with NL is us)
In Holland we rarely have snow/ice. Just enough for everybody to keep ice skates. We go totally crazy when the ice is thick enough to skate on. In the last centuries we've had colder winters and it always provided nice entertainment. I guess that partly explains our love for winter.
