Re: TavernTales 17: Collision Course
Sorry about the delay had to find some way to work robotic, ninja, turtles into the story. Just you wait until chapter 123.
-----------------
2
Swan had to act quickly. He turned himself flat and fell on top of the people behind him. He balled himself up and Fox sealed in any of the gaps so water would not leak through. Swan waited until he felt the stream of water subside.
Nighthawk had taken flight when he saw the tidal wave heading his way. He was able to snatch up a sole GAMES agent when he took off. He landed after the wave calmed.
Swan uncoiled himself, “I had a ball, I don’t know about the rest of you.” Bond, Jeepnut and Fox escaped their safe haven. Bond attempted a quick head count when he realized that most of the remaining GAMES agents had been taken out by the tidal wave.
Bond turned to Jeepnut to inform him of the situation, but he was gone. Had Jeepnut been swept away in the tidal wave as well? Bond looked at the downed GAMES agents and did not spot Jeepnut. He wanted to shout, but then he saw near the edge of the bay his friend. Had he ran away from a fight? Surely, Jeepnut would not leave him in such a predicament.
Bond directed his comments to the remaining four, “It looks like just the 5 of us. Our biggest concern is the water one. Let’s take him out quickly!” They all nodded their heads in agreement.
“Looks like you all survived that,” Dyne looked over at the fallen GAMES agents, “well I guess some of you did. Try this on for size.” Dyne separated his hands and then bought them together like a clap, but when his hands came together two giant waves of water crashed into the group on both sides. It knocked them back and forth before they regained their composure.
“Okay…” Bond’s words came in spurts as the last attack had knocked the wind out of them all, “you… know him… best…” He looked over at Fox and Swan, “what is… the best way… to take him… out.”
Fox and Swan stared at each other and then slowly nodded. Fox turned to Bond, “Keep that one busy!” He pointed at Typhoid. They each prioritized their threats. “And we shall deal with Dyne.”

Short section, I just realized but gives me more to write tomorrow I guess.

Re: TavernTales 17: Collision Course
Sorry... er... went out last night....

Geo continued to watch the fight, but most of his attention went towards the water. He hoped that the water guy once again attempted something that would give him another glance at the metallic creature so he could at least confirm it was real.
When his attention did focus on the fight, it was only to come up with a detailed plan of attack. From what he gathered, there was a shape-shifter who would be difficult to handle, and there was another shape-shifter of sorts, he seemed more plastic to Geo. Either way he determined, that those two would be the main targets during their attack.
Bond as far as he could tell exhibited no powers and the other only seemed capable of flight, an easily handled situation.
"Eww!" came a voice from behind Geo. He swung around to see that his group had finally caught up with him. Flunkie had a disgusted look on his face. Geo figured the sight of the floating skulls was too much.
"What took you guys so long?" He asked impatiently.
"You try navigating this thing with so many people." Magus pointed out.
Raged sparked a fire in the palm of his hands, "So are we ready to kick ass now?"
Geo shook his head and pointed down to the scene at the bay. "I think it's best if we allow them to handle it for now. I doubt they will win, but they will weaken the group pretty well. We can just swoop in while they are hurt and take all the credit!"
The Professor nodded gracefully, "That's a brilliant idea, but remember my dear chaps that Bond is to be left to me."
Everyone gave the person the thumbs up as they all focused on the scene down at the beach.
------------------------
Dyne's water attacks did a remarkable job of keeping Fox at bay. While they did not hurt, Fox found that they could blast off chunks of his body that he would quickly need to re-absorb. Even with the setbacks, Fox continued to try to break through Dyne's offensive line.
Swan continued to bait Typhoid into a confrontation with verbal jabs. He hoped that an enraged Typhoid would be more reckless in his attempt to extract revenge. He had to be for the second part to work.
"So Typhoid, something I've always been meaning to ask you, and this comes from some of your exes I spoke to: Is being fast in bed a special power as well?"
Swan could see the Canadian red travel to Typhoid's face. A few more comments and he was liable to explode.
"Tell me if this is too personal, but when you say no does Dylflon control your mind and make you do it anyhow?"
There it was. Typhoid snapped and rushed blindingly at Swan, who was wise enough to know that he could not outrun him, but maybe outmaneuver him. So Swan bounced all around the place while Typhoid gave chase.
He had to distract him long enough for Bond to get his idea into motion. So Typhoid came charging once more and Swan wanted to test out something he had been working on. He unhinged his jaw and waited until Typhoid ran into him. He was able to ingest Typhoid whole.
"Man that was a speedy lunch." Then he could feel Typhoid punching and kicking inside. "I guess something I ate doesn't agree with me." Then Swan could feel Typhoid drilling his way through his stomach. Swan did not know if his body was capable of repairing such damage so he spat Typhoid out.
"Probably not the first time a guy spat around you I would take it." Typhoid took some time to recover before he began the chase again.
Fox was not finding much success against Dyne yet. He got close on one occassion but Dyne showed off a new ability by spraying water out of his chest. Fox really wished they had remained friends with them long enough to know the range of their powers.
Fox looked back though, Bond had given him the thumbs up. Plan B would be enacted now. Hopefully, they had better luck with that.
---------------------
This isn't the place to end the story, but I shot myself in the foot with a shorter part 2. So look for part 4 tonight.
