Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Wow, if I see this again, I think I might accidentally memorize the script.
I think its safe to say I'm the official Dark Knight expert. Well, unless someone wants to challenge me by seeing it four times...
We definitely haven't seen the last of Scarecrow, I was so happy when I realized it was him. Expect him to be the main antagonist of the third film.

I think I will take you up on that challenge.
Also someone transcribed the closing monologue
Quote:
Why is he running dad?
Because we have to chase him.
He didn't do anything wrong.
Because he is the hero Gotham deserves but not the one it needs right now.
So we'll hunt him.
Because he can take it.
Because he is not a hero.
He is a silent guardian, a watchful protector, a Dark Knight.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I think my favorite part might have been...
Joker: Do you wanna see a magic trick? I'll make this pencil disappear.
Also loved the scene where Joker is walking out of the hospital in the nurses costume...amazing.

Better than Begins...I'll give it that.
I still can't stand Bale's Batman, but the Joker more than made up for it.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Very cool movie. Right after the movie, I just thought it was okay... but then thinking more of it, I was totally lost in the screenplay for the full 2.5 hours, thinking of nothing else... Very nicely done.
I totally jumped when the fake batman was hung and hit the window.. Definitely was not expecting that.
And I know it is sort of stupid.. but I like the choices that the Joker was making people make. Some movies try to play on villains making people make tough decisions.. but this movie really did a decent job at providing a real human element to it.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I'm waiting till next weekend to see it, I have tickets for the IMAX and I don't want to spoil it by seeing it on a tiny screen in a crowded theater.
I'll probably avoid drinking any liquids 5 hours prior to the film so I don't have to pee too, it's a long movie.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
I spoiled it for myself on a dark blurry 19 inch screen. Felt more like a radio drama.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
This movie has been hyped to the point where I think waiting a week will be better anyway....all I've read on Digg for the past week is how amazing this film is going to be.
I don't doubt that it will be an amazing film, even a 4-star film, but I'd like to view it on my own terms, not with all the hype stuck in my head. But, it was filmed in Chicago and Heath Ledger apparently delivers, so we shall see.

Re: The Dark Knight Thread
Just got done seeing it for the second time. Some new comments:
1. I like how one of the "knives" the Joker had was a potato pealer, and the police officer didn't exactly what to do with it.
2. It probably wasn't him, but one of the people on one of the boats at the end looked just like Cillian Murphy.
3. I bet that the detonators that the people on the boats had at the end actually were to their own bombs. Like Batman said, nothing is ever as it seems with the Joker.

To me it felt like Christopher Nolan had planned out his entire Jokeriffic Batman sequel before realizing that Scarecrow's story was a bit anti-climactic...
So he tacked on a short scene to shrug him off for good.
