I think Clapton is great, I'm sure that people who say they haven't heard is music would have probably heard the opening bars of Layla... Also his work on The Beatles, "While my guitar gently weeps" is great too, I love that song
He used to live near me too, until he left England to go to New York, He's a great guitarist, but I still like Hendrix better for ability
