No, I think he's scared that the game is unbeatable because he missed the part of your post about somebody winning.

I really don't want a last man standing kind of end myself. But if that's what the game has planned, then so be it.

I'm not mad, I'm a bit confused by this game because it makes no sense. Last night I found out that there are two vigilantes, the small things in this game that are weird like that feel too unexplained.
