Movies on Tap: Ninja Turtles
There the hero green.
In this day and age who could ask for more.
This thread is partially inspired by the recent Indiana Jones thread I put together. And it serves a similar purpose. A look back on classic franchises and their updates counterpart (though the latter may not always be necessary). Same basic idea as you discuss which were your favorites and how you enjoyed or disliked the newer versions.
As many of you know there was originally 3 Turtles movies, the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, the sequel Secret of the Ooze and a final one Turtles in Time.
Now each movie varied in quality and tone and if you watch characters as well. For the most part, they each have their own merits.
Now these movies were made/disturbed in the early 90s. There was almost a 15 year gap in which we had no new Ninja Turtles movies and then came TMNT. A continuation of the franchise but instead of live action this movie was made by CG. And like the first 3 it had its charms.
Now you know the 4 movies. Where do you rank em? What didn't you like? Where does TMNT fit in for you?
And in the case of this series. Is TMNT a sequel to 3 or does it pick and choose elements from the first two as hinted at by the director.
Before you post, no discussion on the Turtles movies could be complete without these two gems

Re: Movies on Tap: Ninja Turtles
I haven't seen the newest Turtles movie yet. I will be soon. However, the first will always be the best in my heart. I also loved Turtles In Time.
Also, I own and love First Blood on Blu-ray. I ordered Rambo: First Blood part II, Rambo III, and Rambo from Amazon. I have seen the last Rambo but the first "Rambo" movie is very radically different. I'll watch all of them and report back.
