No, I had a Creative Labs Nomad II MG. I bought it 2 days before iPod was announced
And I've always loved iPods, I just was hoping it would also have a radio feature, and a mic on it like my other one did. But then I basically talked myself into how great they were, and next thing I know I was at CompUSA drooling over the store demo.
Oh well. 353 songs on it, about 1/4 filled
So much better than my 64MB Nomad II MG, which held 11
