Only thing that wouldn't give you is the contact list merging, which isn't a big deal. The first gen iPods didn't have that either, and only had a 5 hour battery life.

Yeah, but I really doubt that I could fit any more programs onto my computer. Maybe for the summer, because my sister is coming home tomorrow and bringing a good computer with her, but after August, I think I am going back to my Pentium 1.

You bastard Joeiss!!! You're dilemma made me talk myself into getting an iPod, and I already had a Creative Labs Nomad II MG.
Oh well, can't complain about having a 10GB iPod lying around The new Weezer CD is also online too. w00ty w00t w00t!

I have one made by sensory science, im not sure the cost, it was a christmas present, but I know it wasnt over 150 bucks, and It holds at least 20 songs easily, with room for an expansion socket.

Hang on, you have been talking about how good the Ipods are, and you didn't even have on until now? Hehe... Oh, and no problem. You shall have fun with that Ipod of yours.

No, I had a Creative Labs Nomad II MG. I bought it 2 days before iPod was announced
And I've always loved iPods, I just was hoping it would also have a radio feature, and a mic on it like my other one did. But then I basically talked myself into how great they were, and next thing I know I was at CompUSA drooling over the store demo.
Oh well. 353 songs on it, about 1/4 filled So much better than my 64MB Nomad II MG, which held 11

It only held 11 songs? Well then, you were long overdue for a new MP3 Playa.
Oh, and you must be rich or something. If I ever went out and bought something expensive... Oh wait, I can't go out and buy something expensive. I just have this whole dilema thing because I haven't bought anything new since NBA2k2.

My MP3 player can only hold about 11 songs as well.. it's a 64 MB card. I have a slot for another card, but the cards cost more than a new iPAQ would..

64MB here too. If i cared that much I would rip them at a low bitrate so I could get more on there, but it's a waste. Basically my MP3 player was a Radio/CD player with good skip protection I also had the option of adding a 128MB card, but it was nearly the cost of the player itself, and I'd rather use the $200 towards an iPod, which can hold so much more it's not funny.
After getting iPod, you realize what an MP3 player SHOULD be like. Using it with a Mac, you organize your MP3s in playlists in iTunes and everything. Plug in your iPod, and they all automatically copy over. You can also just do certain playlists, and stuff. Then when they change, your iPod will change with it. Right now I have every single CD i own on there, with nearly nearly 6GB of space left. It's perfect. Everyone should buy a Mac and iPod, you will thank yourself later.

God.. I can't wait until I have enough money to get a Mac.. I have about 1k in the bank so far.. I'm getting there....

Hehe. Just buy it with the lowest possible amount of RAM, and head to CompUSA and buy it. You could potentially save hundreds. But if you want to plan better...
Buy a 10GB iPod from CompUSA, and then buy a membership to the Game Fixx thingie for $50. It will save you 10% on your iPod purchase, so you basically get it for free, and also you can save 10% on (mostly) everything in the store for a whole year, and get a year subscription to IGNinsider for free. Then head back to CompUSA and you can save 10% on your RAM purchase, and all Mac software you buy.
