Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
This question goes out to all those who have upgraded to Leopard from Tiger.
I can buy Leopard here at the university store for a reasonable $70, but I'm wondering if, in your opinion, is it worth it?

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
Nah, my friend had her powerbook bricked twice by Leopard just last week. I'm going to upgrade when I'm safely away from school so I don't screw anything up.
There's really no features I'm interested in to shell out the cash. Tiger works fine.

Yeah, I'm for sure going to wait until this semester is over with to upgrade, if I do.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes.
10.5 and 10.5.1 were somewhat buggy for an Apple build, I think iPhone put them further behind schedule than they believed. 10.5.2 is gold, not like release gold, like money gold.
Somethings in life you should not be without. Among those are stacks, spaces, time machine, and quick look.

I'm with Gekko on this one. 10.5.2 is exceptional. Time Machine alone is worth the upgrade.

Ok I upgraded. It's fucking fantastic. I love Web Clipping certain parts of websites and having them in my dashboard. Spaces also is SO useful for work.

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
Does anyone else have a problem with Leopard not properly organizing folders? My files are scattered everywhere!

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
Are you referring to a UI issue (the files appear scattered and disorganized on the desktop, etc.) or a file structure issue (stuff is in the wrong place on the hard drive)?

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
UI issue. I changed the preferences to have the files appear by name, but whenever I restart they become disorganized again.

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
You know, I used to have that problem quite frequently on my last install. I ended up changing my hardware enough (running it on a PC) that I just decided to reinstall and restore with a Time Machine backup. Now I don't have any issues, so I don't know what causes it.

Re: Is it worth it to upgrade to Leopard?
Yeah... it does seem like a rather random issue.
Hopefully gekko has some advice.
