That, the more I watch it, the more I love it. Then again, I'm so looking forward to St. Paddy's day celebrations in New Orleans, so maybe that's why. I prefer St. Paddy's to Mardi Gras in Nola, since the parades are all still there, though fewer, and the drinking and celebrations are all there for four days in a row (Friday through Monday). But the humongous mass of tourists don't show up for Paddy's like they do for Mardi Gras.

Then again, since Katrina, the mass of tourists for Mardi Gras has dropped a ton.

I hate to sound elitist. It's not that I don't like tourists, I'm in essence one myself since I'm from Houston. It's just when the streets are so packed you can't move, it's no longer much fun.
