So one time me and (I forget who) went to a McDonald's, and ordered "Large Fries" and the girl ACTUALLY said "Do you want fries with that?" so we said "Yes, and an extra order of fries with another side of fries, please."

That really ****ed her up.

Sometimes it just comes out reflexively. When I had to work register at the concession stand I'd occasionally ask if someone would like any popcorn, even though they already ordered popcorn.

Jobs like that are repetitive and boring, and sometimes you just phase out while doing them.

Man, I've been on auto pilot like that at work before. Once, I asked someone if they wanted a bag. They said yes so I put their stuff in a bag. Then I asked them if they wanted a bag.

When you say something enough times, it'll sometimes just come out unexpectedly.
