Upgrades

I've finished the upgrade to vB 3.6.2. You'll notice our fusion style is quite f'd up now. This is because I had to revert the forum display template since it is not compatible with the new version of vB. In order to fix it I have to download new fusion templates and install them. Until then you can use one of the old styles by selecting one from the drop-down menu at the bottom, or you can make due with this style as is.

Well I want to fix the style first so that will be my first priority. I think I've figured out how to go about doing that so it's just a matter of me finding the time. This will be difficult since I'm going to Memphis next week for Thanksgiving.

Also vB just released 3.6.3 which has a bunch of bug fixes for this version so I need to install that first.

As far as the hacks are concerned my first priority will be to add back things like the quick reply. The arcade will have to be totally reinstalled and I believe the one for vB 3.6 is very different from the one we have now. If that's true then most of the games are going to be different too. Unlike previous upgrades all the hacks will have to be reinstalled from the ground up since the template structure of 3.6 is radically different from 3.0. The good news is that subsequent upgrades should no longer affect the hacks so we shouldn't have to go through this ever again.

I'll get everything done eventually it's just going to take a while.

So I arrived at my mom's house to discover that she got DSL back in September but was waiting for me to come to install it. I've never worked with DSL before but after 20 min I came to the conclusion that it sucks. After the installation CD wouldn't work I spoke with "Alan Thomas" at tech support which I have a small suspicion is located in India. After chatting with "Alan Thomas" I was finally able to get the thing to connect to the internet. I then had to install filters on the phone lines so you can hear something besides static when you call someone (though there is still static left).

But fortunately having a high-speed connection allows me to work on the forums. I reinstalled the fusion style for vB 3.6. It should be the default style now but you may need to clear your cookies or select style "Fusion-X 3.6" from the drop down menu below. The old styles are now substyles of Fusion so any hacks made to the main style should also propagate to the other styles.

There are a couple things I still need to fix/adjust but everything should be working for the most part. You'll notice that quick reply is now a built-in feature of vB instead of a hack. Also there is a multi-quote function which allows you to quote multiple users. Please report any problems you encounter.

I changed to Wine Red from fusion to see if it would stop sucking nuts, and now it wont let me change the skin back.

I feel like I'm stuck in 2004.

But...now I notice the layout is all homo'd up.
