This article is a piece of crappy damage control. And Gamepro's reviews are so good, too. =\

There's still a hard "power-off" switch on the back of the system, just like the PS2.

We used it at one point to power down the system manually when the unit wouldn't shut down during a loading sequence. It works just like you'd expect.

If the power button won't shut it off, yank the power cord..how hard is that?

The power supply is integrated directly into the system.

Phil Harrison told us that Sony made this choice for performance reasons, to keep the power supply as close to the CPU chipset as possible. And though the Xbox 360's external "power brick" is hardly a massive disadvantage, having the power supply integrated in the main chassis is sleeker, slicker, and all around preferable. We like, we like.

As odd as it sounds, having the "brick" externally is a little better. Because it makes the overall size of the console smaller for those "Home Theaters" and you can hide a power brick in the mess of wires.

Well, honestly, I think it's a little overt when they specifically link to an article that made some negative remarks about the controller just for the sake of arguing with them - I mean grow up. Learn to be professionals.

The whole thing feels like it was written because they got paid-off. I'll be getting a PS3 eventually, but not because of retards like this.
