X-men 3: The Last Stand (Pre-impressions)

I haven't seen the movie yet so won't write an opinion on it.

But I will say some stuff in the defense of the movie that was out of the control of the director.

-The movie had about a year to go from concept to completion. Which may not sound like a bad thing. But when you take into effort that Spiderman and Batman pretty much film about 2 years before the release then goes through editting and all that other stuff. This movie had a year to get a script, shoot, edit, score and be out in theatres.

-Cast members who either had previous engagements or a certain someone who asked for more time or they would walk.

Maybe Nightcrawler, I know he wanted more money. And he wasn't that great an actor, and not that important a character.

I'm pretty sure Halle Berry said she wanted more time in the spotlight or she wouldn't do a third movie.

Halle Berry originally stated during interviews for X-Men 2 that she would not be returning for her role as Storm in the third film should the character not have a significant presence comparable to the comic book version. However, she decided to reprise the role after Singer left the project and Brett Ratner, who also felt Storm required a larger role, signed on and increased the role.

Alan Cumming was reportedly uncomfortable with the long hours he had to take with the Nightcrawler makeup, but still planned to return for X3. However, the part for Nightcrawler was so minimal, it was not worth it to bring him back and go through the long and costly make up process when he was barely in the film, and the character was cut.

i knew x3 would be a pretty big letdown when the directors switched. so i wasnt expecting much when i went to see it.

Technically you didn't get what you expected because initially you were expecting a sequel from the same director.

But hey, who am I to start picking crow feathers?
