Best Bloody Mary Ever

The recipe sounds interesting. But I have a question.

Now I'm no bloody mary connoisseur, I've drank a few but have never bothered to know what goes in it (besides the clam juice), but don't they usually include alcohol? Or is the point that you make the bloody mary and then add alcohol to your liking -- ie. what's important is the recipe?

Just curious. I'd like to try this. I wish I had a kitchen currently.
