Mother's side Russian Jews...from Russia. The family split up when left Russia so have family in Australia, Japan, France, and Israel...though never see any of them.
Father's side from Germany. Related to Karl Stülpner who was a Robin Hood type figure in the 18th century. He's quite popular over there. There was even a television series about him in the 70's and a number of things are named after him including a beer called Stülpnertrunk which I must import somehow.
