LCD has always had issues with dead pixels sometimes. Some manufacturers are more lazy then others and have more dead pixel issues

I had a dead pixel on the upper screen of my DS. I simply shipped it off to Nintendo free of charge and got it back two days later dead pixel free.

According to the tracking info I sent it to them in the morning, they received it the same day, fixed it, and sent it out later that night. The station was in upstate new york so it didn't have to travel too far.

That's Nintendo. Sony hasn't been nearly as helpful with replacing systems with burnt out pixels.

Working at GameStop I get a slew of customers angry at me because Sony won't let them ship their system back without paying for the repairs. So I dunno, I'm always pretty forceful about trying to sell extended warranties through us whenever I sell one.

Too many angry customers otherwise.
