I think he's an excellent choice. If you have seen Layer Cake, you'll agree with me. He's very well extablished in Britain and he'll fit the role perfectly.

That picture of Eric Bana reminds me of a chinchilla for some odd reason. I got Layer Cake soon as I heard this annoucement a couple days ago. Haven't had a chance to watch it yet.

Seriously though I think this uproar over this fella leans more towards the retarded side of the fence...

This is what it amounts to: "OMG LIKE THIS GUY IS NOT QUITE AS HANDSOME AS PAST JAMES BONDS!"...

I fear change just as much as the next guy, but seriously, give him a chance... Judge how he fits the role when you actually see him in the role...

DH: I hope you werent directing 'see him in the role first before judging' at me, I dont mind the choice at all. I just thought it was funny they said Eric Bana was too ugly...because I dont think this other guy is much to look at. Then again, I'm neither a gay male nor a straight female, so my opinion doesnt matter.

All I'm saying is if you had actually heard about Pierce Brosnan before Goldeneye, then you had a right to say whether or not he would be a good Bond. You apparently have, so good for you. Similarly, unless you've heard of Daniel Craig and seen him somewhere before, you really can't judge whether he'll be a good James Bond. The one person who says he has seen him (The Strangler) thinks he'll be good. Everybody else is just judging him by his looks which, in my opinion, is pretty silly. I personally didn't think Sean Connery was very handsome, but it didn't matter.

Let the man make his Bond movie and then we'll judge whether he's right for the role.

By the way, I'm sure that all the reasons given for discluding Hugh Jackman, Ewan McGregor and Eric Bana are absolute hogwash. But they had to say something, and they couldn't just give the real reason. And I'll bet the reason they chose Daniel Craig was very simple: most people haven't heard of him. Just like the other Bond actors. Hugh Jackman is a great actor, but if you cast him as Bond, a lot of people in the audience would be seeing Wolverine in a tuxedo instead of just James Bond. Stupid but true. It's the same thing with the others.
