I feel you brother. We've had that happen in our basements in both of the houses ive lived in. Back in the old one, it was the sewer that backed up. Probably 5 inches deep of water throughout the basement. More recently in the new house, it seeped in through the walls. Trust me, I totally feel your pain, it sucks just as much and even more than Jeepnut is describing it.
He called me up on Sunday morning so that I could come over and help him out. Imagine my surprise later that evening when he called me to say that I should be concerned if I feel sick at all because I was exposed to so much bacteria.
I can not imagine what the guy in the other apartment is going through.

UPDATE: Found out today that the new carpeting won't be put in until Thursday. Bummer. I'm thinking that's too long to be without tv so I might suck it up and move the 100 pound behemoth back in there for 3 days.
Also found out today that there is another apartment that got hit even worse than the two I already mentioned. The woman that lives there isn't around though and the landlord can't reach her. Apparently, she has some real nice furniture too.
Thanks for the sympathy. Nothing was really damaged luckily as I said earlier. The main reason this is so annoying is I came up a week early to get my apartment all set up for the semester so that I wouldn't have to do it while in classes. Well, I had just got everything in place more or less when it happened for the second time. Oh well.

Sorry to hear that, Jeepnut. I'm just glad you weren't hurt. If it happens again, please consider finding a nicer place to stay. I hope you have a wonderful week.
