Crash, are you capable of posting a thread without a spelling mistake in the title? Just wondering.

Re: Expland the definition
The history may have been great but if Ninty doesnt start getting people the "real" hype for wanting the Rev over other consoles, I feel they are gonna get bitten hard just like they did with SMS on GC

Re: Expland the definition
Whine whine whine they gotta show some information soon or people lose interest whine whine whine.
Please. I guarantee that when Nintendo does reveal some solid information, nobody is going to be talking about how long they kept a secret. They're going to be talking about the secret ideas themselves and whether they really are that special. I won't say that everybody will like it or even be bowled over by it, but in a few years, nobody is going to care that on August 22, 2005 there still wasn't any solid information about the Revolution. And considering that the thing won't launch until next year, I think that's really all for the best. Microsoft hyped the Xbox 360 to the end of the world, and look at how that's biting them in the ass now.

Re: Expland the definition
lmao, they wont care about the date. It will be earmarked as a "While Microsoft and Sony for the most part completely showed their offerings, Nintendo remained secret on their controller and anything else to do with that console". Then that timeline has 2 "paths". Either "But when Nintendo unveiled their secret(s), the gaming world was shocked at first but it was widely accepted and praised by gamers and developers alike". or "When Nintendo finally unveiled their secret(s) to the gaming world, it was met with lukewarm appraisal with developer complaints they can't cookie cutter port games anymore to Nintendo/Revolution".
But anything can happen. I just wish they would "finalize" their controller and whatever else or at least get a decent prototype unveiled so we can stop being in mystery.

Of course people are gonna whine about the lack of information, and of course Nintendo fans are going to be extremely excited when Nintendo does finally spill the beans...
The problem is, the longer Nintendo waits to reveal info, the more time people have to speculate and hype up the Revolution.
Everytime any insignificant thing happens with Nintendo or even IGN, people go bat-****ing insane and come up with crazy ideas as to what it means, and usually it amounts to absolutely nothing (the 'surprise' at E3, Matt of IGN posting his desktop, the fire at Camp Hyrule, the list goes on)...
And of course the problem with all these crazy high hopes and secrecy (if they're hiding it and putting this much emphasis on it it must be jaw-droppingly amazing!!!11!1!!!) is that as time goes on, Nintendo has an increasingly smaller chance of actually living up to it and wowing the audience...
Is it going to be something truly revolutionary, or is it going to be something as secret-worthy as FLUDD?

Re: Expland the definition
We've already gotten past the point of Nintendo fans hyping up the Revolution in their minds like there's no tomorrow. That's just what they do regardless of what Nintendo itself does. What really matters is what the general public thinks, and the fact of the matter is that the rest of the world really doesn't care about what happens beyond this Christmas right now. If you look at what's being talked about in the mainstream media and what average people are thinking, you will see that nobody is even particularly hyped for the PS3. It's just too far off. Revealing information now isn't going to change anything. Nintendo might as well just advertise the DS which is exactly what they've been doing.
In the meantime, you can either whine and get antsy about whether the Revolution is going to live up to its promise or you can just accept that we will find out about it when Nintendo decides to let us know. And in the meantime, why don't you go play a game or something?
