Or this is all BS and it's for Rev games too :>
I dunno it sounds interesting... I dunno... I just don't see it happening this generation...
Plus one other thing:

Nintendo knows only one person can play per revolution console, so they make the consoles connect to each other for free across the no line community, and when in close proximity.

Meaning your friends who perhaps don't own a Revolution of their own can't simply waltz over to your house to engage in multiplayer action... I just can't see them doing something like that...

Re: Revolution is 3D
They can come over and play the classic games. Nintendo said they weren't forsaking the old way either (hence backward compatibility) But that isn't a problem for DS owners... they have to have a DS to play with you, and it costs $150 bux. If the revolution launches at $199 (like most think it will) I dont think it will be a problem for the revolution either.
Iwata also said on the 12th:
Quote:
“Sitting in front of your monitor with a controller, there’s really nowhere to go from that paradigm, all you can do is make it prettier and faster,” he said. “What Nintendo wants to do is to open up that road, create something that goes beyond.”

But... The DS is a handheld... Handhelds are designed to be playable wherever whenever by a person on the go... They weren't originally designed for 2-4 people to all go somewhere just to hang around playing videogames...
Home consoles have always been made so that a friend (or 3) can come over and play against you on the $20 extra controller(s) you have... Not the $200 console they might not own...

Re: Revolution is 3D
Maybe Nintendo screwing themselves over by making this a one person system is the Revolution?

That shift being a company whose always embraced multiplayer gaming, and has always tried to keep their products fairly cheap suddenly requiring everyone to have their own $200 dollar controller for 2-4+ player games
I'd like to add though that since I'm not big on multiplayer games, it would indeed be very awesome (unless it sucks and causes blindness)...

What does "stereovision 3D" mean?
Stereo vision refers to the human ability to see in three dimensions and most often refers to depth perception (the ability to determine the approximate distance of objects). Stereovision 3D provides this experience by delivering two distinct images simultaneously on two separate screens, one for each eye. To illustrate this principle, place your finger at arms length at eye level and close your right eye. This will give you one perspective. Now open your right eye and close your left. Your finger appears to jump approximately an inch. While your finger does not actually move, you are viewing it from a new perspective. Our brain joins these two perspectives to give us depth perception.

Re: Revolution is 3D
I think there is a very good possibility it could be something similar to Crash's theory, there is a lot of evidence to support that Nintendo has at least researched something like that.
I also agree with Death's Hand that it is extremely unusual for Nintendo to force everyone to buy a console in order to do multiplayer gaming. Wouldn't it also mean that to play multiplayer you would not only have to have a console, but you would also have to bring your own TV.
I personally think Crash is definetly on to something, we have had a lot of discussions about Nintendo doing something like this. With everything Reggie and the rest of the Nintendo gang has been saying I believe that the Revolution will be something like this, it is about the only way I can think of to truly redefine the way a video game is played. But I also believe they would be smart enough to figure a way for more than one person to be playing on the same console.
