Its gonna be similar to the 1970's all over again. This time, except, gas prices go sky high, then US Auto Makers realize the complaints (again) of fuel efficient cars and finally get off their rich smoking asses and make them more widespread instead of charging alot for a car that SAVES gas.

My father went to buy a Smart car,
..and not only was the price really high, there was also a waiting list of several months to get one. Now that's pretty ridiculous.
Yeah, the industry is ready for a change. |

Prices around here seem to be in the 2.25-2.30 range. But as long as my mom keeps shopping at Kroger I can get gas there and get 15 cents off per gallon. I just filled up for 2.14 yesterday...still rediculous, but it helps.

I thought it would too, and I read up on it in both the brochures. Apparently the chasis is really, really strong. Everything will crumble except for the main area where you sit. They were pretty confident in it's design. |

Well, almost all cars are designed to crumble that way. In anycase, I would still doubt you would be able to walk away from that car in a high speed accident. |
