actually her problem is now solved...a cable just got screwed up or something, everything is working fine now.

Yeah, I was about to say, it shouldn't recognize her speakers. There's no way for the computer to see them through a standard audio jack.

It should recognize her soundcard, and if it's not then there's the issue.

But since you figured it all out, cool.
