Re: NEW Revolution pics
Do we download these retro games onto the 512MB memory?

Yes, NES games range from 2KB-250KB, SNES games from 512KB-8MB, and N64 games from 2MB-32MB (Resident Evil 2 and maybe 2 other games are 32MB - other than them the biggest is 16MB). So yes, you'll store the retro games on that as well. You shouldn't run out any time soon with that, but when and if that space runs out you're free to pick up SD cards (up to 2GB I think right?) for use in your Revolution to supplement the storage.

The official word is "fan-favourite" games.
Nintendo's patched things up with third parties this last generation, so they'll have no problems asking permission to use really old games.

Re: NEW Revolution pics
The question is how much will it cost? I'd hate to have to pay for my N64 and SNES games all over again.

Re: NEW Revolution pics
Heh, if I have to pay, I'll just play them on my previous consoles. I kept them for a reason.

Re: NEW Revolution pics
I consider my comp my video game time machine. The ability to download old Nintendo games doesn't impress me much. Though I guess now I could play N64 titles without all the glitches and better control. And they pretty much released all their Nintendo-brand games on GBA...and now N64 on DS. This is another excuse for them not to make new games. Look how long it took for a new 2D Mario game to be released...over a decade. And it's not like (real) 3D Mario games come out frequently either...one a console doesn't cut it. Give Mario tennis elbow and go fight the good fight.

Re: NEW Revolution pics
Hm, I guess we can't complain, but I'd still have loved a HD.
2048 NES games or
256 SNES games or
64 N64 games.
Hm that's not that bad.
But remember, you also have to save your revolution and GCN stuff on that card.

We don't know that for sure, do we? Perhaps other companies will board the retro ship.

Re: NEW Revolution pics
What I remember seeing is that games ranging from Donkey Kong to Super Mario Sunshine would be downloadable. It may imply "only Nintendo games," but I think it's intended to imply "only games on previous Nintendo consoles."
