I wonder how much "patience" Nintendo fans have now...
I still remember when couple of people here said "You need to have patience with Nintendo..."

Re: Nintendo Press Conference
The reason Nintendo didn't want to reveal much is because they're still not finished constructing Project: Revolution. Very smart move in my book. While Microsoft and Sony already have their systems finalized and complete, Nintendo is taking another year to continue improving and optimizing what will be the ultimate gaming system.
Next year's E3 prediction: Project: Revolution being the ultimate gaming system and the next Gameboy having power and graphics equal to PS3.
Oh Sony, if only you hadn't rushed. Looks like you'll learn your lesson the Dreamcast way...

Re: Nintendo Press Conference
Nintendo was stupid for saying 2-3 times more powerful than GameCube. They always understate things, and I bet you won't be able to tell the difference between Rev and Xbox 360.
Kyuzo - I don't understand you coming in and bashing Nintendo in every way you can. Xbox 360 wasn't revealed last year, and it will be released later this year, and yet you don't bash them for it. By the time PS3 is released, Revolution will have already been unveiled, and so they will be on an even playing field. Revealing this early does nothing for Sony other than create hype that is too early for preorders anyways.
People aren't going to start lining up to pre-order the PS3 because Sony overspeculates their system's power while Nintendo underdescribes theirs. The difference in graphics will not be that great.
Am I disapointed there wasn't much shown? Hell yeah, but it was expected, and showing anything this year was only Sony trying to convince gamers not to buy an XBox 360.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference
At this point, the difference in graphics is not going to be phenominal. I'm more amused by the fact you'll be able to download old games from NES, SNES, N64 and the GC (assuming its free).
btw, the other systems look uglier.

Re: Nintendo Press Conference
Kyuzo, one of your most annoying habits is pointing out the obvious 100 times over.......
Yes we know the conference was disappointing, and I normally expect this from Nintendo anyway so my expectations were not high in the first place. I still enjoy their games and I still can't wait to see what they have to offer, but by now I have learnt that Nintendo don't compete very well with the other consoles. They do things their own way, which sometimes really hurts them, but I enjoy their games and can't wait to get more info on the revolution.

While I agree Sony's graphical capabilities seem a bit overrated, they maybe not as overrated as some people are thinking... I can definately see how Killzone 2 isn't gonna happen in the actual game... maybe the GRAPHICS will look that good, however half of what makes that video so amazing is all the activity on the screen at once... And not just the activity in general, all the unique, situation-specific activity going on... It's basically too scripted to be 100% believable...
As for Revolution, I think the graphics will be good enough... Maybe every bit as good as PS3... But we can't be sure yet... As much as that will be the focus for a lot of people's initial reaction, I'm more interested in them finally letting the dern cat out of the bag about the controller... I mean it's supposed to be so amazing... But with all this talk of uber-backwards-compatibility, it can't be TOO different because it would make playing those existing games way too awkward.... Although they could easily release a special CLASSIXXX controller for a bit of extra cash...
As for getting a head start, getting a head start on hype always helps...
If you get people talking early, they get their mind set on buying the PS3... And when they've had their mind set on buying the PS3 for so long, it's less likely that, no matter how amazing the revolution's true revealing might be, people will suddenly pull a 360 (GET IT!? HAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and buy a Revolution...
But again, nobody can be sure until it's released and we hear the public's reaction
And one last note, on the super compatilbility download NES/SNES/N64 games...
First off, if it's ONLY Nintendo's games, as good as they are, that's lame (I think I've said that before maybe)... Second, assuming it's all games (or at least all the major ones), I'm hoping they don't do something like say... "Well if you wanna buy Chrono Trigger used, you're gonna have to shell out around 50 bucks... So we can sell a downloadable version for saaaaay 29.99!"... But instead go for an approach of a set fee... Maybe NES games a buck, SNES games 1 or 2... N64 games maybe as much as 5... With prices varying in certain situations...
But you get the idea... If Nintendo tries to rip a hole in people's pockets with these emulated versions of old games, that'll be beyond a ripoff, and a crying shame... They're not making ANY money on those games currently anyways...

I don't think the PS3's capabilites are super overhyped. I just remember Sony telling numbers about 70 million polygons a second and Toy Story rendered in real time for PS2, and that never happened. We know they like to BS a little with their ideas, that's all. I don't think Revolution's graphics will be as good as PS3, buy Kyuzo is making it sound like they are ging to be the difference between N64 and PS2. They won't. It'll be the difference of PS2 and XBox, if that. The further we go into these games the less of a difference you can notice.

which is exactly what they should do. Sony isnt afraid of letting thier cards show. Nintendo is. Sony gave reasons to hold out on Xbox for a PS3. Nintendo shoulda tried to give reasons to hold out on PS3 for a nintendo. or at least, gave them a reason to wait and see whats coming from them.

And how quickly we forget nintendo did the same thing. i sure as hell remember seeing thoes tech demos at e3 long ago, holy cow. look at that amazing fight between ganon and link!!! gamecube is going to be so awsome! and fans ate up that hype like no tomorrow. this has ALWAYS been the case with all the consoles.
My main, and pretty much only problem with nintendos conference, is that they didnt give gamers a reason to wait for them. they didnt plant the seed.

Again, I already mentioned what Sony said about PS2 and the Emotion Engine that never held up (70 million polygons, Toy Story in real-time), whereas Nintendo's battery life for GBA, DS, and Wavebird were more than they stated, and Wavebird can go WAY past the 20-30 feet or whatever number they gave it. I'm not going to argue specs about this generation because we don't know Nintendo's, numbers don't mean everything, and I'm 99.9% sure PS3 will be more powerful anyways.
