What that has to do with this topic (besides obviously ignoring what was written and post a standard liberal cliche) I have no idea.

With the media scrutiny of today, no President could survive an extented military conflict unscathed. Think about how crazily things were spun out of control with Vietnam... now add about 50 24/7 cable news networks to the mix.

It doesn't matter how much good happens in the Middle East due to this conflict. It doesn't matter how many hospitals are built in Iraq or how mnay lives have been saved because Saddam is in jail and not just killing whomever he pleases (and yes, even with the terrorism over there, less people are being killed by far). The media thrives on bad news. Hell, the only reason why the Afghan and Iraqi elections were covered was because the media was waiting for it to fall apart. As for Lebanon, they were begging for it to end bloody.

Just look at the Pope. For all the things that he did during his lifetime, he was a mere blurb in the paper or broadcast news for most of them, except for the pediphilic priest scandal of course. Now that he's dead, its all Pope all the time. The networks can't get enough Pope. Dead Pope sells. Live Pope doesn't.

If that doesn't tell you about what our media thrives on, I don't know what does. Then again, if it sells, why are we blaming the media? We should blame ourselves.
