I have played both. Lumines has better atmosphere and is overall the better experience. However, Polarium is very clever and innovative, and like you said it's unlike pretty much anything I've played before.

They're two totally different experiences, really.

Also don't forget about Mercury and Meteos, both are kick ass.

I've played Lumines, and not Polarium, so I can't make a perfect decision about it.

I've seen both in action and I think Polarium looks a bit more fun, just because of the touch screen. But I haven't played them so I can't make an educated opinion.

I might get Mercury because of the whole Tilt sensor in the PSP, and it working with the game.... that COOL.

I think he was trying to say Nintendo came up with the tilt sensor first....

a lot of discussions on this forum turn into a competition between 2 brands.... unbelievable.

Yeah, and the new Wario Ware: Twisted for GBA will also have a tilt sensor built in the cart (configurable so it can be reversed for compatibility with both GBA's and the DS).

As for the puzzle games, I really don't know. Hopefull they're both great, but as it stands I haven't had the opportunity to play either.
