Lol... I'm don't use Friendster to meet new people, although I get the occasional weirdo PMing me (e.g. Some old fart asked me if I'd like to have"some of his candies". In the 'Who you'd like to meet' section, I typed in "Strangers with the best candies".... )

I use Friendster to keep in contact with all my friends... They are located all over the world and having moved overseas myself, you have to admit that it's pretty handy.

I have friendster. I have two people from high school, and one person from University.

I'm turned off by the fact I'm literally the only caucasian in this area who "uses" it. Friendster is exclusively asian here. It is an EXTREME I'm stressing here. I'm the ONLY one.

Around my University people have a huge Xanga blog ring, too. But 98% of people belonging to the ring are also all asian. The other 2% are half-asian or a mix.

My only real online community is Livejournal, but I don't have any friends from University on it.

The real University "community" I use is MSN. I have over 40 contacts alone that I've gotten, in less than two semesters.

i have an account.....i only use it to keep contact with friends from high sch....and people who ive lost contact wiht....theres lotsa desperate lonely guys and girls on friendster who go around saying hi to every pretty person on the boards....i just think its another way for ppl to get hooked up or waste time browsing for good looking people they might want to meet...
i personally dont use it much ...just update it to tell my friends at home what im up to in sydney

I don't have any reason to use this. I have a xanga, and all my friends use that as well. So certain colleges are listed in friendster and thefacebook? I wonder if Pitt is listed there. Or maybe you just mean that at least one person from those certain colleges have an account at either of those two. Okay, so now I have a question. What do you mean when you say there are colleges listed at friendsters and thefacebook. That was an oddly written post..

Well, to answer your question...

thefacebook is COMPLETELY based on college e-mails. So basically, if your college isn't listed, then you can't really join thefacebook. Friendster on the other hand, isn't related to colleges or universities at all. Anyone of any age as long as you have an e-mail address can sign up for Friendster, which is why it is better and more versatile in my opinion...Most people who use it are youngsters I'd say, but there are some older people on it.
