When I read the topic title I thought a giant mutant Starburst candy terrorized a small town or something after escaping from the factory.

That's amazing!

It is way cool how we can know so much about a star that is 50, 000 light years away. Being that far away also means the starburst actually happened 50,000 years ago and we are just now observing it.
