Chronicles of Narnia
Oooooh this is going to be good.
Produced by Disney, and created with WETA workshop, the creatures behind Lord of the Rings.... OMG this will be the best movie series ever created. Can it surpass LOTR in in the best movies ever created? we'll see

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
I never read any of the books but I've heard they're great. I'm looking forward to this now

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
if you've read the bible, you've pretty much read these books... not to ruin any stories for you.
i've read all the books like 3 times...
i never read lord of the rings until after I saw the movies, so this will probably make me more critical of these movies.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
Well, now, saying that is kind of inaccurate. Yeah, CS Lewis was adapting the Bible stories into something a little more fun, and you can certainly find parallels, but that's not all they are. The Narnia books have nothing blatant about God or Christianity, and its not trying to subtly shove it down your thorat either.
So nobody who read that not read the books just because of any Christianity in them. Its not overbearing or really even obvious in some of the stories.
Anyway....
The books are wonderful, but don't go into them expecting The Lord of the Rings. They were written for a much younger audience, and thus aren't as complex or so interwoven with Narnian history.
Think more like The Hobbit.
Also, if you do plan to read the series. I suggest reading them in their publication order, first, before reading them chronologically. The Magician's Nephew is much more enjoyable after you've read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe than before (just as an example, and not to say that TMN isn't enjoyable by itself, just more so when you have the knowledge of LWW with it).

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
Looks like it's going to be cool. I saw a play of tLtWatW once.
If you're excited about Narnia, you'll be glad to see a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also.

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
Way back when I twas a wee lad I read all but the last book. Can't remember why I never finished. I'll probably do what I do for all movies based on books and reread the books first.

I don't think input matched your default category. What if you said it can? I don't know, do you think that would be good? How very happy are you?

Re: Chronicles of Narnia
It sounds like it will be really good. One can only hope. I only read Lion Witch and the Wardrobe, so we will see.
I also want to see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but if you look at the previews, it looks like a carbon copy of the original. Hopefully they are both good.

They can't be making seven of these, can they? I mean they'll pair it down a bit, right?

I'm a Tim Burton fan.
However, I don't support the purchasing of any Nightmare Before Christmas items from the emo/punk/goth store, Hot Topic.
