Re: Mario DS: Help thread
Okay, you'll need to be luigi for that one. Go into the ghost house, go up to the second level, and go into the door at the far right. Backflip as Luigi onto the ledge in the room leading you to the door. Once upstairs.....I THINK their is a box to make Luigi invisible......if not......you'll have to use the box on the balcony that is by itself in the house, and then run into the room, and backflip up before the cap runs out. Once you're on the "3rd floor" or attic of the house, there's a big picture. Run into it (it's not the luigi picture!). Then there will be a really really big eye......and yeah. Run around it.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
I have 49 stars and the only characters I have are Mario and Yoshi. Should I have already got Luigi and Wario at this point? If so, how do I go about it?
My other question involves the level with those stone slab guys. The last mission is titled something like 'Shoot the Wall Down' and I have no idea what to do for that. I'm thinking maybe I don't have the right character yet.
And last for now, any advice for the that water base level with the mission titled something like 'Elevator Express'. It's where you have to step on the elevator thing and then it lowers down and then you quickly have to run down under it into the caged area and get on the inner part of it to get back up to the star. It's so hard to do because of the camera angle.

Jeez, didnt you play Super Mario 64?
As for your first question, I dont know because that talks about stuff that is DS only.
Second question, this I remember very well. The question about the "shoot down the wall" You need to enter a cannon, I assume with any character. I cant remember which cannon it is exactly, but there cant be too many in that level, shouldn't be that hard to find the right one. Once you enter the right cannon, there should be a brick wall somehwere in front of it. You need to shoot yourself at the upper right corner of that brick wall. It will then break off, revealing the star.
As for your third question, I dont really remember that part very well, sorry.

Your star count isn't going to help me directly......but anyways. You can get Luigi after you get Mario. More specifically, you use Mario to get Luigi in the Haunted Mansion. Wario is on the second level of the castle - the level with Tiny Big Island and Tall Tall Mountain. I'll tell you where Wario is if you want.......but I think it's funner if you find it. I'll give you a hit: try walking around the upstairs with different characters.

Do like Jason said, and hop into the canon, and shot yourself at the stone corner. There are two of them, they have a black slanted part inbetween then.

Ahhhhhh.......one of my favorite levels. If you notice, the way you jump into the picture for Wet Dry World depends on the level of the water when you enter the level. If you want to save some time, I advice you to jump into the picture as low as you can. If the water is raised when you enter the level, swim underwater, and find the switch to lower it so there is no water in the level. The next part requires you to get up to the elevator, without using the water. Easier done then said, but then again......I beat Mario 64 like 11 times on the N64. Lol. Anyways......use those enemies that look like they have giant mechanical dustpans.....if you get on them right, they'll launch you up to the next level and so on. Once you are up to the top where the elevator is, jump on the elevator, and it will start to go down. Since there's no water, all you have to do is jump down, walk into the elevator cage, and wait for the elevator to come to the bottom. Just jump on it, or backflip on it, or wallkick, and walla. You'll be on it.
That's the easier way, IMO, opposed to doing it when there's water......which would just be hard and silly.
Edit: Even easier, if you have the canon opened, you can just use the hidden warp when there's no water in the level, hop into the canon, blast to the elevator, and follow the gameplan as typed above. But that's only if you know where the warp is and if you have the canon opened.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
I felt like getting 120 stars was an accomplishment. I don't know if I'm up for the DS version yet.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
"Break Away the Wall" was the hardest thing ever in a game. I was trying to shoot myself up to the top of the tower, and accidentally hit the wall, revealing the star. Damn thing...
But getting all 120 really made me proud.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
Yep, back in those days you actually kept playing the game until you had finished it 100%. And even after that you'd play it.
I think I beated the game in 1 week and got all the stars in 1 month... too much time on my hands...

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
go in the mansion, up the stairs to the second floor... go in door on right.... go to back of room jump on ledge... do backflip or wall jump to get to top, go in door on right, kill boo... (use backflip, buttstomp)

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
ok, so I got 102 stars.... couple questions i may be forgetting how to do... the most recent one that is strange to me is:
pluck the pirana plant in tiny big world... btw... i thought you unlocked the courtyard cannon when you beat the game... guess not until you get 150 stars... plus, i'm not collecting "glowing" rabbits, I have 5 more to go... i wonder what I get when i collect all those.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
The cannon used to open when you had all 120 stars.
I thought rabbits gave mini-games.

naw, the glowing rabbits are different.... once you have all the regular rabits, you collect the glowing rabbits, and it gives you a key to that "silent" door.... dunno what's inside though
luigi's last rabbit cannot be gotten until you get on the castle top.

Re: Mario DS: Help thread
I don't know what to do for 'Pluck the Pirahna' either. Someone help us!
Also, some Mario 64 DS easter eggs I discovered:
- Matrix Spoof: To access the Matrix spoof, play as Luigi and enter the room with the mirror that reflects the entire room. Grab the invisible flower and enter the mirror to the reflection side. Go into the door that's a reflection of the door that leads to you this room. Inside the door you will be taken to a completley white room with no floors walls or anything. A secret star is your reward for finding the Matrix all-white room.
Freeze Time:
Having trouble clearing the courses in the Clock Themed world? To make things easier and essentially freeze everything in the clock world except for bad guys, just jump into the face of the clock when the big hand reaches the 12.
