Re: The NFL thread 2004-2005
Aint Manning's fault he's tearing it up with his supporting cast. You really cant do any better than what Manning is doing right now...he's making the absolute BEST of a great situation. The Colts O-Line doesnt have a single career pro bowl appearance, and sported 3 rookies (highest drafted was 5th round) against the Lions, and he didnt miss a beat. When the O-Line rotates and the QB isnt affected, logic says the QB's doing something right.
Also, question for Bond and Stoney:
How many games have you watched Manning play this year?
*edit*
and I suppose Favre's supporting cast is THAT MUCH worse?
*best O-Line in football*
*ahman green, who most would argue is better than edge (not me, I think Edge is a top 3 back)*
*walker/driver, who are only a couple steps behind harrison/wayne*
*the best array of backs in the NFL (green, davenport, henderson, fisher, luchey)
I would agree that Manning's IS better, but Favre isnt doing half as good as Peyton this year.

Remember, Favre is old and on the way out. You really can't blaim him for not performing up to his old standard.

That's fine. Favre is a very good QB TODAY...he WAS the best, along with Elway, back in the 95-98 yers.
Favre circa 1997 > Peyton Manning? I would agree, until Manning wins a Superbowl.
But Favre circa 2004 > Peyton Manning? definately not

Still though, one game, you've got to take #4.

after watching him throw away (Eagles...Playoffs...January 2004) a good amount of games over the past 2-3 years, absolutely not. he can still light it up...but he's far too unpredictable/inconsistent.
Manning has thrown at least 2 TDs in every game this season, and never as many INTs as TDs. That is the kind of play to set your watch to.

Re: The NFL thread 2004-2005
BTW.
I Love watching Najeh Davenport run. It should not be physically possible for a man that large to move like that but he does.

Re: The NFL thread 2004-2005
^^^ me too. I really think Davenport should be a top runningback somewhere
give him 325 carries in a season and I say he goes 1500+ yards and 10+ TDs

Vs NE
Vs GB
Vs Oak
Vs KC
Vs Min
Vs Chi
Vs Det
I watched at least half of all of those games except the KC game where I only got to see the last 5 minutes during some CBS Extended coverage.
Damn, Indy has been on a lot this year.

Re: The NFL thread 2004-2005
with the exception of NE, you saw him against cream puff defenses. Although shredding those apart, he was also amazing against teams like Jacksonville (twice) and Tennessee (when their defense was....alive?) who are potent defenses.
what makes you think Favre's the better QB?
