Stonecutter joins the darkside.

So over thanksgiving dinner I find out that my cousin, who had gotten married at the beginning of the month, now has two ps2s, his and his wife's. He offers me the extra one and a Mem Card for $50 so of course I'm on that like Patrick Stewart on a voice over.

Here's my question. He didn't have the cables for the system with him at the time, as I didn't have the cash I just took the system and I'll pay him when I get the cables. Can I use my PS1 power and AV cables for the ps2? I know everything else is backwards compatible but I get nervous when it comes to plugging a power cord somewhere it doesn't belong.

Umm yeah... I belive so.. I used my old ps1 cords on my ps2.. But I'll double check again..

if they fit then yes. cuz the converter box is in the console itself rather then the wire so its not going to matter.

i believe Xbox, PS2, PS1, Dreamcast all use the exact same power cord.

PS1/2 have a round port and a square port.

Xbox is two round ports.

the new PS2 has 2 round now. and my friend still uses it for his DC, which has round/square.

some of the music/rythym games are great (Gitaroo Man, Amplitude, DDR)

Yeah, I know.

I'm really considering going back to Best Buy and grabbing like 4 more copies at $20 to Ebay in like 3 years.

I probably won't fire it up until tomorrow. I have to watch this snow game now on ESPN and I've got a paper to write after that.

Ehh. Devil May Cry but Ninja most certinaly does Gaiden. I hated MGS2 and I hate jRPGs.

Ace Combat 5 will be mine as soon as I finish AC4 and I've got to buy RType Final. I'll definatly buy Jak II and if I like Jak II and/or R&C 2 I'll buy the 3s. I want to get the second Maximo game. I almost bought GT3 today but I remembered how much time those games take to play and I'll never be done with it by the time GT4 comes out, so I'll just wait for that.

Other than those 5 or so games, I'm pretty much set with the ps2.

I've shaved a DC cable to fit an X-Box. Anything can be done with a boxcutter nowadays.
