Microshaft? Ooooh, thats so ORIGINAL and HILARIOUS. Why not call them Microstink or the ever popular M$

As for the Dreamcast, they were as much of a victim of Sony's bullying tactics with devlopers and retailers as they were of name value. As for the hardware power, its arguable whether or not the PS2 is more powerful, and the DC actually did a number of things better than the PS2.

it really all depends on sony and nintendo as to how well MS does with a 05 launch. (more so on sonys side). Depends on what they're offering, and at what point they get the hype for it started.

Personally i think MS will be fine with the launch, Part of Sega's problem was they did that early launch after another failed system. xbox didnt fail, and its collecting steam as it goes into the next console launch, not losing it. an early launch would really hurt nintendo rather then MS.

I agree with Null. If any console needs some help right now, it is the next Nintendo console. Nintendo has to give current GC customers a reason to stay with the company now or the next console race is going to go to Xbox and the trusty PS3. That might be a major reason why Zelda is coming out soon. They want people to believe in them again.

MS should do just fine releasing early... As long as they get a heavy supply of popular games out in the first year. Nintendo on the other hand, is screwed no matter how they come out. I can't even imagine Nintendo doing better than 3rd place in America next gen. And as it stands... if the next Zelda game isn't getting 9.8-10's from everywhere I see no reason to get another Nintendo system.

(I hope they do the dirst cheap strategy again, then I might consider it.... might.)

I will definitely feel left out when I see people playing Madden 2006 on a wonderful looking Xbox2, while I am playing a crappier version on the PS2.

What operating system are you using right now, just out of curiosity?

And I suppose your lame attempt at ruining a joke is more original? Hardly. Seems like anytime something you like is even mildly poked fun of you have a tough time not pulling out the sarcasm. Here comes the old reversal: [sarcasm]Really mature.[/sarcasm]

And while I agree that the Dreamcast had some great games and the graphics on a select few titles were close to some average PS2 games, a game like Shenmue (2) - graphically and artistically one of the best looking games on the Dreamcast - hardly stands up against the high end PS2, Gamecube, or Xbox titles. My Dreamcast will always hold a special place in my heart. But looking at specs and average games, I could never rightly say the Dreamcast had nearly the power of the current consoles. It was often times what they did with the power they had that really made the difference.
