yeah, but there is no one that does emulating that does not rip games to their XBOX harddrive.

this is why xboxnext is not putting a harddrive in. they are sick of pirates (they deserve it for not taking better measures)

piracy is retarded.... this is why games are freaking 50 bux at launch. i'd bet more games would be 39, or 29 if piracy comes down.

No. Games are $50 because they can be $50.

And honestly, if I'm never going to buy a game - but it's fun to play from time to time - I've got no problem with people pirating games.

I don't have any of my systems modded. But I just don't care. Yeah, there are legitimate pirates out there that download everything they can. But if you're never going to buy the game - then the company isn't going to make any money off of you anyway and nobody really loses anything. I don't know about anybody else, but I'm extremely picky about buying games. I don't buy games unless they've either gotten rave reviews, or they're part of a series that has entertained me time and time again.

And I know I'm going to get flamed for that, but it makes no difference. It's like the South Park episode when it's showing all of the recording artists living lives of "semi-luxury" because of pirates.

Oh, and by the way, the Xbox can be softmodded so it doesn't even need a chip (using a Mech Assault bug).

i agree on the price thing. i really doubt prices would come down at all without piracy, because people do and still would pay. they got no reason to drop price.

They would still make a profit on games at like, $30. Like everything else, games are grossly overpriced, because they can get away with it.

I dont like piracy, but theres nothing i can do to stop it. I look at piracy like smoking. I dont like either, but there is nothing I can do to convince anyone to stop.

Now, like, i download music, (technically its legal though, considering its Canada and all) But i NEVER burn CD's with the songs I have. I still buy it. Like, I DL'ed all 3 Hives CD's, i liked then, so i bought all 3 real CD's.

Same with games. A while ago i DL'ed Civilization 3, liked it, and bought it.

I know thats computer though, not like, Xbox or anything.

Why would because its computer make any difference? pirating on xbox is not a bigger deal the PC. games are games.

I don't think you should pirate when games are readily available at the stores and are still in production. But if they're no longer produced and the system for which they made is no longer produced then I think it's okay. I've downloaded Streets of Rage 1,2, and 3 and Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine. But I have these games for my Genesis so I'm innocent.
