No. A lot of black talent, yes, because it's what the people want to see.

Form a program that shows blacks in a proportional rate?
Let's see, according to the CIA Factbook, blacks make 12.9% of the United States population. That's still not that much is it? Add that to the fact that most blacks live in neighborhoods that are mostly made up of 'blacks only', it kind of does make sense. You wake up everyday, and you only see black people, and there is no reflection of what you experience on television.
And I think even there BET, is nothing but pure garbage, because it is nothing more than a Black MTV, aimed at kids, and accomplishes nothing.

I wonder how old you define 'kids' as... hmm. I think at a certain point in the day it is aimed at kids (If you think Music videos are for kids ), but when they start doing comedy and showing movies its aimed at adults.

MTV is an example of trying to make everybody happy... MTV is culture within itself. IT does good to break the barriers between different groups of people and brings us all together. I'd call MTV Rock/Hip-Hop/Pop... with a ton of entertainment insider and reality shows

if its not exclusive to blacks, that's another issue. bad example.

but there ARE like Latin Grammy Awards and whatnot. What do people think of that? Why is there a need for that?

Because Latin music is a whole different genre and sub genre of music. Latin Rap, Rock, Pop, Country etc. The majority of American listeners wont understand the music so they get their own award show.

This might be a bad example but I see it like only giving out an MVP to the greatest athlete in 5 major sports (Soccer, Baseball, Football, Basketball, and Hockey) rather than each having their own awards.

And Micky, in my experience with Black people there IS a difference between Nigga and the N word. I get ****in called nigga everyday by black dudes and they use it towards each other as well. I've witnessed a bunch of times when -er has been used and they have been offended but nigga doesnt have the same affect. At least around these parts. You're in New York right? They use it just like I use dude *shrug*

Yes, I do live in New York City. And as such, I have heard so many different types of accented English. And the main reason why I say nigga and nigger are the same is because the people that say the former NEVER, EVER pronounce the er's at the end of words and always replacing them with the -ah sound. And I have also heard many times, people who talk and always pronounce an -er, at the end of words that end the -ah sound. Utica beomes Utic-er, Jehovah becomes Jehov-er, Canada beomes Canad-er. That's why I say it's just a different accent. I don't know if you've ever heard people talking like that, but I have.
