The way I hear Rappers nowadays, its no wonder I hear so many 11-14 year olds talking like them and it annoys the living hell out of me. Same thing online when I'm playing City of Heroes. When they are saying things like "wut up my homeyz", I want to strangle them. Kids absorb the violence then think its ok to do it themselves because they heard/saw X celebrity do it in a movie or through music. Games can be at fault also because you can play out that violence rather then speaking about it. Kind of a big looparound circle.

You're absolutely right Jonbo. And it's becoming a bigger problem. All that rap **** makes kids think being a thug is cool. We even have white kids trying to act black nowadays.

It makes me mad (and sad) even thinking about what the media and this "American" pop culture has done to not only kids in North America but also worldwide.

Notice I put quotes around American, because even though it seems this way now, I really hate to think that America's reputation was been deteriorated into a country that represents violence, sex, drugs, gangsters, etc. And I know I'm not American, but it is still sad to see. I feel sorry for you real Americans. You know, the ones who have not succumed to this Rap and Pop bull****.

I'm sorry, but I had to say that. Because I really take this stuff personally, especially in the past couple of months.

If I was leader of America, every Rap star would be thrown into jail, and their **** albums taken off of the market. That's what they get for ****ing up this world.

I think violent behavior is created when young children are raised in a negative environment. Because human minds kind of form and develop the most when they're in the baby-toddler age. So if they're is violence and stuff during that time and they're exposed to it a lot, the behavior will be hard-wired into their brains.

The incredibly violent Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, made by Take-Two Interactive of New York City, has caused multiple copycat killings across the country. A recent Gallup Poll found that any American teen who has played this one game is twice as likely to be engaged in an act of violence than those who have not played this one game. In this game you have sex with a prostitute and then kill her grotesquely to get your money back and win the game faster. Police officers are set on fire, shotgunned in the face, and innocent pedestrians are run over with cars.

Pardon my language, but this just pisses me off.

First off, you dont HAVE TO have sex with a hooker.
Second, you DONT have to kill her.
Third, Kiling Hookers isnt how you win the game.

You could draw the same conclusion from the old Mario games.

In Mario you run around jumping on turtles and riding dinosaurs.

Now i've never seen any study that says there was a raised attack on turtles, or any study that says anyone whos played this game is twice as likely to ride a dinosaur.

Pong doesnt make me want to play tennis. And it doesnt make me want to hit little white balls.

What about games like BF 1942? That is pretty much a sim to kill people. Actually, its the objective of the game. So why does it get off easily?

As much as i hate rap, A song is still art. You cant ban art. Why not put pants on Michealangilo's David for indecent exposure then? That sculpture might make kids want to run around naked.

Jack Thompson has appeared recently on a number of national television program with victims of two teenage Tennessee snipers whom police concluded trained obsessively on Grand Theft Auto to prepare for their sniping spree. Numerous others have been murdered by teens trained on this one game.

Then obviously they are f***** in teh head, because i snipe peopels heads off all the time, i dont gfo doing it in real life.


Maybe the problem isnt violence in games so much as violence and neglect in the home.

Maybe less violence would happen if kids wernt so easily accessable towards guns.
