Well that is a surprise move.... Does he have a family and stuff? Maybe he saved up enough money and just wants to chill.. or party, haha.

Last I heard, he was a bachelor, but I got the feeling that he was gay from that Cribs episode.

His heart wasn't in it anymore I guess. It's a shame though. He's a great athelete and I hope he comes back in a year or two.

on one hand, I feel sorry for him because he didnt love what he was so good at...

on the other, he picked the WRONG time to announce this. a week before training camp? damn man...you just screwed over the Dolphins for this season. they cant even go grab Eddie George now...they might have to rely on Travis Minor (

) or make a trade

I have no clue.... I picked up the Herald this morning and the headline read "Dolphins' Ricky Williams Retires" or something along those lines. I mean, Ricky himself said something along the lines of "I feel so free now." The decision for his retirement has been planned for months.

Problem is, the man has only been playing for 5 years and he's 27 years old. And he had to make this decision a week before training camp too.

But also know that everyone close to him is trying to convince him to stay.
