I hate to say it, N5 will be backwards compatible

nintendo did say they were working on the new gamecube system, and depending on how the DS does, they would change the N5 to match it's revolutionary features. praise god for the backward compatibility. Best.Decision.Evar!

I don't think that the memory system has to be a problem. They could just euh... make a converter that converts your game data. Or transportation from the GCN to the N5, via the DS.

Well I do hope they change to control to suit a larger variety of games. The GC controller is comfortable and all but it doesn't work that well for a number of games.

Oh maybe they can a screen ( similar to the DC) attached to or placed in the controller that allows you to view maps and select items something like the touch screen on the DS?

Knowing Nintendo, they will definitely change the controller desing. Miyamoto will most likely have something new that he wants to add. I really would like them to go back to the N64 controller's concept. That controller was awesome.

'64 controller was the best ever for console FPS's. Also was good for other genres but it shined well with FPS's. I doubt Nintendo will do N64 controller again unless they can incorporate a 2nd controller without throwing everything out of whack.

if nintendo wants to be inventive. they should make the first ever customizable controller.

made outta pieces you can take apart and rearange. lol. dunno if it would work or be good. but hell, it'd be inventive.

Or a SLIGHTLY easier idea, where you have a choice of which type of controller you want to come with your system.

Yes, it was deffinatly a great FPS controller...the Z-trigger was just like holding a gun. I liked having the Z button on the bottom of the controller, I never got used to having two shoulder buttons. Hopefully the next design will have a set up similiar to the N64.

I think what null said is incredibly cool. It would deffinatly take some hard work to design something like that...but it would be extremely awesome.
