No, you're counting 5 as a full hour, and then adding another half hour onto it(Making 5 count for 1 1/2 hours), when it's actually only a half hour. It goes like this:
7:00 am - 8:00 am = 1 hour
8:00 am - 9:00 am = 2 hours
9:00 am - 10:00 am = 3 hours
10:00 am - 11:00 am = 4 hours
11:00 am - 12:00 am = 5 hours
12:00 am - 1:00 pm = 6 hours
1:00 pm - 2:00 pm = 7 hours
2:00 pm - 3:00 pm = 8 hours
3:00 pm - 4:00 pm = 9 hours
4:00 pm - 5:00 pm = 10 hours
5:00 pm - 5:30 pm = 10 1/2 hours
Your calculator sucks.
