Too bad his name isn't Link, otherwise it would work
And Jeepnut's slave has the right idea... that's pretty much what I was trying to say

Re: The new Zelda
Voice acting or not, Link should NOT have his speach EVER represented by text or voice. Never.
I wouldn't everybody else with voice acting though. They don't necessarily HAVE to say his name. Never once in FFX (or X-2) did anyone say "Tidus," but it still worked.
They could do the same thing.
Or everybody who doesn't like "Link" could suck it up and live with it.

Hey wait, you're right... I forgot that they never said Tidus because you COULD still rename him in FFX... You just couldn't name any of the other characters, and anytime his name was mentioned it was in text where it could just type out whatever the player put in...
SO IT COULD WORK LIKE THAT FOR ZELDA IT COULD WORK!

Re: The new Zelda
They did the exact same thing in Neverwinter Nights. While I don't want Link to speak, the NPC's could easily be given voice actors. It's not hard to write dialogue that conforms to that style.

I don't want any voices. I want the dialogue and voices to be just like that in Wind Waker.

Re: The new Zelda
Miyamoto doesnt want link to have a voice. But he didnt mention no voices at all.
A lot of game do no voice for the main character only. Jade Empire, GTA, KOTOR, etc.

Re: The new Zelda
It seems that the trailer shown at E3 was a shortened version of a previous trailer that, obviously, wasn't shown at E3.
IGN, however, was given to chance to watch and did. They weren't allowed to bring cameras or anything, so there's no video or audio, but they did write a detailed report on it. There's no new information that we didn't already know about that can be taken from IGN's article, but it is interesting none the less. I expect we probably shouldn't have to wait too long until Nintendo releases the whole to the public. I think no more than a couple of months....
Anyway...
