This is going to be confusing, so hang on.

The fourth dimension does exist, just not here or in the way we think of it. I'll explain it like this: To a person in a 2-D world, the idea of 3 dimensions would confuse them, they wouldnt believe it, they would see a sphere as a circle and a cube as a square. Thats why the 4-D rubiks Cube looks as confusing as it is. And i acually think that it might be 4-D...

In my opionion, there is a 4-D universe or galaxy out there, but our minds alone cannot grasp the idea of what it would be like because we are in the wrong environment for a simulation to occur.

I also just want to say that there has to be a chance of other Universes out there, just as there are other galaxies and stars. 1000 years ago they thought there was only one galaxy, when in-fact there are way more. So why cant there be more Universes? They could possibly be in a bigger mass called a Gigaverse, where the Universes act as Galaxies.

The big bang could'nt have occured without something else present, i dont believe the fact that all the matter in our universe was stored in an area smaller than a needle head then BOOM!...it needed a source for it all. Perhaps a nuclear explosion from another universe...if there is more.

And please...dont argue me alot on this...Space is the only thing i know..i will fight you to the grave over it..

Aha! I unscrambled a scrambled-by-two puzzle. So far the hardest part is figuring out how to move the pieces in the way I want.

I mean, I can see which pieces I need to move and how to move them to solve the puzzle, but figuring out which big cube to click and on which small cube of the big cube, and then which set of the even bigger 4D cube (1, 2, or 3) to get that move is the hardest part.

Don't worry, that last sentence makes no sense to me either.

It's a different in-out, forward-backward, or something. I don't know, I don't understand that website's explanation well, but it talks about the theory I was referring to.

Did anyone else notice that the colour green comes out of nowhere....there is no GREEN!!!! it hurts my head to do....and why is it already solved for you? This is the easiest hard cube ive ever solved...

The "4D" cube was just a bunch of 3D cubes stuck together. If there is another dimension, it's not a direction... all of the visible directions are components of existing dimensions. Any dimension past the third would be intangible, such as time. Since time is included in many calculations, and is just as important as matter for any condition, time could easily be named the 4th dimension.

not really 4D (and just the illusion of 3D for that matter.

Then what is 4D to you?

Sure it's an illusion of 3D (as all current 3D video games must technically be), but could'nt it also be an illusion of 4D?

Does anyone really know? No, but that's the point. I find it interesting how you and some others here just write it off as if you know the true form of the 4th dimension.

And, Rndm, you say the "4D" Cube is just a bunch of cubes stuck together. But answer me, what is a cube? A bunch of squares stuck together, is it not?

So why can't the 4th dimension just be another direction that we as 3D beings have trouble visualizing?

There was a source. It's called gravity. Think of the Big Bang as a Black hole, kind of the same thing. Then again the Big Bang Theory is not credible.

And a nuclear explosion from another Universe, causing a big bang in ours, doesn't make much sense either.

Thats insane. I know a kid who can finish a rubiks cube from start to finish in less than 3 minutes. Its pretty amazing.

Well, that and the old "tack it onto another existance" solutions to things solve jack ****. Religions are an example, no matter how much I might get flamed for it.

"So... Bob... how did the Univers come to be?"

"Well, God created it, Jhak."

"Uhm, ok... but, then how did God come to be?"

"What do you mean?"

.

heh.....um.....a black hole is a dense high mass star which's life has been ended...thus you get something so dense it pulls light into its gravitational pull...( i just want to show-off what i know)

And the big bang theory is similar. The gravitational force was so high that it eventually released itself. Similar to the creation of a black hole, I should say. Because that is exactly what happens when a star explodes.

But like i said before...what caused the big bang? How did it all get there? What created the matter that all exploded? That is why i think that there is something bigger than a Universe, that contains all of the Universes, such as Universes do to Galaxies. I would call it a Gigaverse...And what i think is maybe two Universes collided....or merged or something like that...

Hahah, you're trying to get theoretical on the matter without considering the basics.

But, I shall respect the fact that you asked a question. There is more to a cube than "a bunch of squares stuck together". But since I don't know what you mean by "square", I'll give a reason for both possible meanings.

1) If you mean a square is a cube... then yes, one of those big cubes is 27 small cubes... and then the super cube is a bunch of cubes stuck around eachother, where twisting allows one set of cubes to spin around an external axis and attach itself onto another cube.

Take a cube... put a cube on it. Both cubes are in the third dimension. The resulting square cylinder is also in the third dimension. Adding a whole bunch of objects that are in the third dimension together in a three dimensional plane does not give you a new dimension... it just utilizes the third dimension without confining its movements to the second. I do hope you followed.

2) If you mean a square is "two-dimensional" then no, a cube is not just a bunch of squares put together. A bunch of squares put together would make a larger shape, still in the second dimension. A cube is "a bunch of squares" put into a three dimensional plane. To get the second dimension, you need to add an infinite amount of the first dimension... to get every direction as components of two directions. To get the third dimesion, you need to add an infinite about of the second dimension planes to one another. Then, you'll get every component of the three directions.

Included are:
Up, down, left, right, up-right, up-left, down-right, down-left, in, out, in-right, in-left, in-down, in-up, in-up-right, in-down-left... infinitely continued in the third dimension.

I'd like to inform you that the "4D" cube is the standard cube... with cubes placed around it in a 3D plane. However, an illusion is created by placing these cubes on a 2D interface (a computer, for example). The cubes, though they appear to be in a standard, structured cube format, can spin along a sphere.

Why can't the 4th dimension just not be visible? Well, maybe it isn't... how would I be able to defend that there isn't one? But if there isn't one that is visible or noticeable, it most certainly could not be demonstrated by an online java game nor described as the other dimensions are.

But yeah, everything you see... everything around you, can already be described using the three dimensional system in place. It's possible to alter it and add in a fourth dimension... but the three dimensions are sufficient to describe everything that deals with direction.
