What I think we need is a little role reversal. A military force (Group X we shall call them.) invades you because they think George W. Bush is a tyrant and he's evil and your country's way of running a country is wrong. Now, their military force is much more powerful than yours. (We'll reverse funds here. Instead of America haveing billions in their military, Group X has billions of dollars invested in your military and America has only $250,000 in their military which is the estimated amount that the terrorist factions in Iraq have.)
Now, your country is being invaded. And your hypothetical son or dad or wife or brother or what have you has to pull something out of his jacket so he/she can lie on his stomach to comply with Group X's soldiers. He/she is shot on sight. Exactly how would that make you feel? Another country invades you, your neighbours are suffering and some of them are being killed. What would you want to do? What could you do? Would you fight them at the risk of being called a terrorist and then being shot? How could you handle being someone from a country that is getting invaded?

The problem with "suspected terrorists" being locked up is the fact that they didn't have any proof worthy of locking some of them up. That's why the U.N. is getting really pissed off about it.

What I don't get is how me believeing privacy is a right makes me an unpatriotic hippy. Would you like cameras in your house or some crap like that?
And I'm sorry people you know died fighting for their country. I don't disrespect them or anything. But it always turns out that these wars didn't need to be fought. WWII was the only major war that I think was worth going to.

Oh...and a lot of jobs have been lost while the war has been taking place.

It's a damn shame that you have to go to war. I feel for you. None of the soldiers should still be there. And I certainly don't think this war was worth the lives it cost on both sides. But that's just my opinion.

You dont know why the Americans killed them you dont know if they were civillians all you saw was some video of American troops killing some people who were dressed like civillians. Okay, I ahve at no point said I was in support of Sadam Hussein. I don't think he's a good guy. In fact i think he's a son of a bitch. I do think him killing innocent people was wrong. I have relatives who've died too. Died in WWII. My grandpa served in WWII and was almost killed a number of times. And the problem with reading the newspaper is that you're only reading the good stuff about what america is doing. Not all civilians get along with soldiers. Many of them fight them becasue they don't like their neighbourhoods being occupied.

the Patriot Act was what the american government used to imprison many of the prisoners that are in that camp right now. And my problem with it is they never showed any real evidence of them being terrorists.

In fiction the big brother concept comes from the very well written piece of literature called 1984. The patriot act resembles closely the beginnings of something very much like the Big Brother program in the book 1984. That's why I made the reference.

No because I read the army times and the other news papers on the internet even the ones from england.. And sure they fight because they don't like their neighborhoods being occupied then should not resist and everyone would be out of there soon..

And I don't care how many news papers you read. The U.N. wants to know what the hell the deal is with the camp.
And who are you to say that it can't happen? The Patriot Act seems like a nice big first step towards that.

Yeah this thread started as me saying when I'm getting deployed then it turned into a political argument with dyflon saying just don't kill any civilians.. A simple good luck would have worked

Ok next topic the killing of civilians, dyflon if you so much as watch the news you would notice that people that live in iraq get along with us soldiers fine they have even had an economy boost from the soldiers buying trinkets to send home. The people that get shot more then likely deserve it..
