Without the speakers, that is.

Anywho, I bought a monitor to go wth the computer, as my family just now let me know that they still want to use their old computer... monitor and all (despite the deal we had made earlier). Doesn't make me too upset, aside from the fact that I would've gotten a nice 19" flat screen (not flat panel) for only $140 along with my computer. However, today I did purchase a 17" flat screen (not panel) for $190 from Best Buy with a $100 rebate... not to mention "free shipping". Yes, that's right... I picked it up, put it in the car, and brought it home. Shipping would have been pricy by air from California.

On the plus side, my computer will be installed in my room rather than a downstairs side room (in which this old computer happens to be located at the moment). A negative of that, though, is that there is not phone line in my room, which is necessary for DSL (not cable... O_o).

So, in summary, I have my computer... but until I get it installed in my room, format it (or whatever will be needed to get it ready for basic use), fit in FFXI with the credit card # setup, and receive my cool speakers I have to play the waiting game a little more.

At least I'm one step closer!

Ah yes... I believe I'll be starting in Bastok to get used to the game, and create a second character in San'dOria when either DM or Crono logs into the game for the very first time... yes... yes... like a virgin.

welcome to bostok then I wont be playing for a while(thanksgiving) but if your ever on from 1 - 4 (central) in the morning next week ill be on to help out

i gave the game back to EB for in-store credit...so whenever i get a CC# i'll go buy it again...

I got paid today, so it's up to my convincing skills to get either my parents or my grandfather to lend me the additional money I need.

If it works, I'll be playing maybe sometime next week. If it doesn't, then I must try again next pay day, and if that doesn't work, I must wait till Christmas.

Computer is installed, speakers have arrived... now I must just install and sign-up for FFXI. So, I'll be playing this weekend, most hopefully.

hope you have cable theres lots of upgrades when you first install the game it takes 40 mins or more on cable

Got DSL... Wouldn't play an online game on anything less.

Sweet... did the second Benchmark and got 4000 on the low res, and 2500 on the high res.

I've gotta get this game running soon. The benchmark looked really, really good!
