Default America and the Kyoto protocol

Read everything on the Kyoto Protocol (KP) here.
The KP is an agreement of a lot of countries to face the problem of global heating. Basicly this is the problem: We burn too much oil and stuff, so more CO2 enters the air, more heat (from sunshine) stays in the atmosphere of the earth so the earth warms up. This has been proved.
We can already see the results. The sea level rises, so that some parts of land being flooded.
Others parts become much much drier so more deserts show up. Less land can be used for food production.

We can face the problem by reducing the energy we're using. We can also plant more forests (or variations of it) to store CO2.

If we don't stop this soon, the problems will get worse, and after a few 100 years, there might not even be an earth anymore.

Recently, America, the biggest polluter of the world, stepped out of the Protocol, because it would 'hold back economical growth'.

What do you think of this?
